Important guest notice
The House Rules below are operational conditions for a safe and pleasant stay. The later Indemnity and Right of Admission section is legally distinct and should be read carefully. Nothing in this document excludes or limits rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Welcome to Villa Afriq. We hope you enjoy a comfortable and relaxing stay. To protect guests, staff and the property, everyone entering or using the premises is asked to observe the following conditions.
Part A — House Rules & Guest Conditions
These are the practical rules that apply during registration and throughout the stay.
1. Registration and payment
Every staying guest must complete Villa Afriq’s registration process and ensure that the accommodation and payment arrangements recorded for the booking are correct. If an amount is payable by a guest, it remains due even when the reservation was made by a third party, unless Villa Afriq has agreed otherwise in writing.
2. Occupancy
Rooms are reserved for the number of guests confirmed in the booking. Where single occupancy has been booked, an additional person may not stay overnight without prior arrangement and approval. Reasonable additional occupancy charges may apply where agreed or permitted by the booking terms and applicable law.
3. Visitors
Visitors must be announced to and approved by management before entering guest areas or rooms. Unless management agrees otherwise, visitors are permitted between 07:00 and 21:00 and may remain for no longer than 45 minutes. Guests are responsible for ensuring that their visitors comply with these conditions.
4. Smoking
Smoking is not permitted inside guest rooms or bathrooms. Guests may smoke outdoors in appropriate areas and must dispose of cigarette ends responsibly.
5. Bed linen
Bed linen is normally replaced every third day during a stay. Please contact reception if an earlier change is required.
6. Towels
To help conserve water and energy, guests are encouraged to reuse towels where possible. Towels on the towel rail indicate reuse; towels left in the shower or bath indicate that replacement is requested.
7. Fire safety
Candles, open flames and similar fire hazards are strictly prohibited inside guest rooms and bathrooms. Guests must follow reasonable safety instructions and promptly report a fire, hazard or emergency.
8. Food and beverages
Please refrain from eating or drinking in bed to help protect bedding, mattresses and linen.
9. Linen, towels and furnishings
Guests must take reasonable care of linen, towels, furniture and furnishings. Excessive staining or damage beyond normal wear and tear may result in reasonable, substantiated cleaning, repair or replacement charges.
10. Noise and guest conduct
Please respect the comfort, safety and privacy of fellow guests and staff. Hooting, excessive noise, threatening or seriously disruptive behaviour, unruly conduct and dangerous intoxication will not be tolerated.
11. Cleanliness and care of room contents
Waste bins are provided in guest rooms. Please use them and do not leave rubbish or food waste on floors. Kindly avoid placing clean pillows, linen or bedding directly on the floor. Extraordinary cleaning requirements may result in reasonable, substantiated charges.
12. Damage, missing items and reporting
Accidental damage, loss or a safety concern must be reported to management as soon as possible. Villa Afriq may recover reasonable, substantiated costs for damage, missing items or extraordinary cleaning, subject to applicable law and booking conditions. Removing Villa Afriq property without permission may be reported to the appropriate authorities; accidental damage is treated as a damage matter and is not automatically characterised as theft.
13. Guest acknowledgement
By accepting the House Rules, a guest confirms that they have read and understood the practical conditions above and agrees to respect Villa Afriq’s property, staff, fellow guests and lawful instructions.
Part B — Indemnity, Assumption of Risk & Right of Admission
Please read this section carefully. It explains responsibilities accepted by guests and visitors, limits that apply only to the extent permitted by law, and circumstances in which Villa Afriq may refuse admission or require a person to leave.
1. Reasonable care and personal responsibility
Villa Afriq will take reasonable steps to maintain its premises and provide its services safely. Guests and visitors must take reasonable care of themselves, other people and property, follow reasonable safety instructions, and promptly report hazards, accidents, loss or damage.
2. Assumption of ordinary risks
To the fullest extent permitted by law, guests and visitors accept the ordinary risks reasonably associated with entering and using the premises and facilities. Each person remains responsible for loss, injury or damage caused by their own unlawful, intentional, reckless or negligent conduct.
3. Indemnity for guest or visitor conduct
To the fullest extent permitted by law, a guest indemnifies Villa Afriq, its owner and staff against third-party claims, losses or reasonable costs arising directly from the unlawful, intentional, reckless or negligent conduct of that guest or a visitor invited or permitted by that guest, or from a material breach of these Guest Conditions.
4. Personal belongings
Guests should secure money, identification documents, vehicles and other valuables and report suspected theft or loss promptly. Any limitation of Villa Afriq’s liability for loss, theft or damage applies only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
5. Liability that is not excluded
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability arising from the gross negligence of Villa Afriq or a person acting for or controlled by Villa Afriq. Nothing in these terms removes any right or remedy available under the Consumer Protection Act or other applicable law.
6. Right of admission and removal
Villa Afriq may lawfully refuse admission or require a guest or visitor to leave where this is reasonably necessary to protect the safety, security, property, privacy or quiet enjoyment of guests and staff, or because of unlawful conduct, threatening or seriously disruptive behaviour, dangerous intoxication, an unauthorised visitor or occupant, non-payment of an amount properly due, or a material breach of these Guest Conditions.
Any decision will be exercised reasonably, fairly and without unfair discrimination. Where circumstances allow, the person will be informed of the reason and given a reasonable opportunity to remedy the breach. A person who refuses to leave after a lawful instruction may be treated as remaining without permission and the matter may be referred to the appropriate authorities.
7. Charges, refunds and disputes
Removal from the premises does not automatically result in forfeiture of all amounts paid. Outstanding charges, refunds, damage claims and recovery costs will be dealt with under the applicable booking terms and law. Villa Afriq may recover only reasonable, substantiated amounts to which it is legally entitled. Legal costs may be recovered only where permitted by law and, where applicable, awarded by a court or agreed in a lawful written settlement.
8. Acceptance and current version
A guest’s separate acknowledgement of this Part B records that the guest had an opportunity to read and understand the indemnity and right-of-admission wording before submitting the digital registration. The version recorded for the registration is identified by its effective date.
